“We live in a time of demonstrable and objective overconsumption. The pervasive and near-obligatory use of unsustainable materials and production processes, along with faulty or nonexistent consideration of full-lifecycle implications, is creating a self-fulfilling prophesy: that environmentally unfriendly options are cheaper and more aesthetically pleasing than environmentally friendly and sustainable alternatives. My goal is to reduce the lifecycle carbon footprint of consumer durables, specifically furniture, while creating compelling designs that draw us away from traditional materials such as wood, metal, and plastic. I aspire to create designs that, over time, will right these wrongs and offer us a different and better way forward.”
